All I want is a flat stomach. I don't even need the ab definition. |
I have decided it is way past time that I take my life back. Even though I am not overweight, I still must maintain my health by exercising and eating right. My household eats fairly healthy, so I don't need much improvement in this area. I don't eat a lot of pork and beef. I substitute ground beef with ground turkey. I don't eat a lot of fried food. I eat mainly all whole grain products for pasta and bread. I eat vegetables with just about every meal and I eat a fair amount of fruit. I've even started drinking less soda and more water. I have to add a crystal light packet, but I'll do just about whatever it takes to increase my water consumption.
Exercising is where I am lacking. I don't have a regular workout routine (unless you count chasing around my 18 month old). Other than that I can go weeks at a time without working out. So I have decided to get off the couch and get in the gym. I want to teach my son that exercising is essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. My significant other (who will will loving refer to as my Hunny from now on) is already on board with the working out. He actually lost a significant amount of weight (almost 2 pants size) since he has started working out regularly. I really wanted a workout partner, but I don't see that happening anytime soon so I must rely on self-motivation and that from my Hunny. I will be relying on GOD's strength to get me through this.
What I decided to do was workout from 5-6 days a week. I'm going to incorporate the gym with my desire to run. Here is my tentative schedule.
Monday- Body Combat and Upper Body
Tuesday- Run
Wednesday- Body Combat and Lower Body
Thursday- Run
Friday- Run and abs
Saturday- Swim/Aqua Zumba or Detroit Style Ballroom
Sunday-Rest
